Another picture from last night. This one was taken looking stright up and if you look closely you can see the dense concentration of the stars towards the center that represent the Milky Way. Even the dark material that covers the center of the galaxy can be seen here. Next project: Get a wide angle lens.

This morning about 4 am I took this picture looking south east outside of Cedar Rapids. I was looking for at least one shooting star from the meteor shower, but they seemed to be avoiding whatever spot my camera was pointing at.

Spring is finally here although is behaving more like summer. Just Thursday we had our first tornado outbreak of the season. Friday, I took these pictures a little south of the town of Van Horne. The first was looking north, on a very nice peacefull day. Just by driving up the hill, you start seeing the debris left after one of the tornados destroyed this barn/workshop.
